finnish police getting rights to install spyware???

There is a law proposition in the finnish government that would allow the finnish police to install spyware to suspected individuals computers. This would require that there would be a backdoor that the police would be able to use, but who makes sure that crackers wont use the same backdoor? In my opinion this law should never pass. What about companies who are under surveillance, crackers would be able to get in to the companies secure network
.

we the people need to stop this kind of laws from passing.

The Internet as a weapon against democracy...

Lately we all have been reading how the people in different Arab countries have started their uprising against the decades of dictators. As it turns out the first thing that happens is that the government shuts down all communications like mobile phone networks that also includes sms services. In Egyptian revolution Mubarak government shut down all Internet from most parts of the country, now this included international companies like Vodafone. The reason why the government shut down the network was to limit the peoples possibility of communicating with each other to gather more people to tahrir square. Google saved the situation in Egypt by launching Speak2Tweet service that allowed the protesters to send messages to Twitter by making phone calls to the Speak2Tweet service.

In my opinion we have to think why we the people allow the governments to control our telecommunications, maybe we need to start thinking to add a new chapter to every country's constitution that forbids governments from interfering with public telecommunication networks.

Sickness and Linux

Ok, tomorrow is the last day of my sick leave and on monday i start my job finally. The sickness that i had was severe pneumonia, should have understand to go to hospital earlier like my wife told me...

Do you know the feeling when you get an idea of any kind? Its funny to think that sometimes these crazy ideas we get can be worth of lots of money, but sometimes these ideas can even become more important than just simple money. Many great computer scientists have taken the more noble road and decided to make their software open source, Linus Torvalds, Michael "Monty" Widenius etc. In my country Finland, many schools have made the decision to change their operating system from Windows to Linux, now there must be a very good reason for that, and there is MONEY. Its always the same thing, money rules everything and everyone. What i wonder is that if Linux is good enough for education so why isn't it good enough for the governments??? The amount of money that could be saved by using free software in the governmental level is very much... Maybe the reason why it still isn't used is that the end users are not that familiar with Linux or maybe they are intimidated by the new....

thats all for now...

Getting a job after graduation...

Many of us who have graduated recently are still waiting for that real job that you can start building your career on, let me tell you something, getting a job on your own field can be really difficult, especially thinking the economical situation the world is in. The main thing is that we dont give up and we keep fighting harder and harder to get that once in a lifetime opportunity to prove our ability. Meanwhile we have to do what we can to get some income.

One day the geeks shall inherit the world
